Ahol a számbavétel lohol a növekedés után
Abstract :
This study provides a brief insight into the measurement of GDP (gross domestic product) growth, directing attention to its methodological features and presenting some countries’ experi- ence gained in the implementation of relevant methodological changes. Its aim is to bring a new methodological perspective to the spectacular growth of the African continent in the last decades. Although the recovery of the sub-Saharan region in the last 20-25 years cannot be contested, the conclusions of the study call attention to the fact that the increase in the indicators for GDP growth, published by the statistical offices, may be due to methodological anomalies, and the bias is bigger than in more developed countries. To overcome this problem, hitherto unre- corded economic activities in the region are being continuously explored and recorded in order to give a more nuanced picture on the actual economic situation.
