Absztrakt :
Warfare ideologies are as old as human civilization. By now, theyhave grown into an important and extended researchfield, including works analyzing the justification of war in ancientIndian epic literature, empire-building techniques in Chineseantiquity, and the warfare ideologies of Islam or Buddhism in SriLanka. Similar works concerning Hungarian historical ideologiesexist, but a comprehensive survey remains to be seen. In thisarticle, I present a special Hungarian warfare ideology which isbased on the idea of the Holy Crown, with the help of theconcepts of just war theory. Thereby, I throw light on a particularway in which just war thinking has been used and developed inEurope.
